A reviewer is someone who will write about their experience of using a product or service of ours for the benefit of their readers, followers, members or subscribers. If you have a website, blog or social media account with an active audience of at least 500 people then this would be for you.

Can I choose which product to review? – if there are compelling reasons why a particular product is required then “yes”, but normally we’ll provide a shortlist of products that are best suited to the type of website, blog or audience that you have or that are “hot”/trending items at the moment. You’re free to choose among the shortlisted products as you see fit.

Will you send me a product to demo? – in most cases, “yes”. We don’t expect you to write about a product without having actually used it. In some cases, we may provide you with limited access to a product, either at our offices or yours (in other words, we won’t leave the product with you) and this may be because of the value or some other requirement of the product.

Do I have to stick to a particular script? – No. You’re entirely free to write what you wish, but we do ask that you stick to the following guidelines:

  • Write honestly – be believable
  • Write simply – be understandable
  • Write objectively – be balanced
  • Write practically – be useful

The last requirement also includes providing your audience with a way to obtain further information or to purchase the product in question. If you wish to make use of our affiliate program to earn a commission for each referral that results in a sale then you’re most welcome to do so. We suggest that you include a statement on your website to the effect that you may be compensated for sales that result from referrals. This, we believe, is a necessary disclosure to ensure that your audience will retain their trust in your opinion – but it is entirely up to you.

You may at any time request that we destroy any information you have provided to us, and we will furnish a receipt of destruction once that request has been carried out. Please bear in mind that we cannot remove your details from the records of 3rd parties, including for example, the South African Revenue Service or other entities to which your information may have been provided. We will not, however, disclose your personal information to ANY entity without your prior approval. You will know who else has been given access to the above information because you will have expressly authorized it. We cannot guarantee that our business relationship will be able to continue in the absence of the above information, and reserve the right to refuse further dealings with you in the event we are not in possession of the minimum information needed to fulfill our contractual and/or other obligations.
